Data from the latest census reveals two population trends which will have a profound impact not only for businesses but for everyone in America – The rapidly growing number of Hispanics in the USA, and the declining number of people per household.

We’ll briefly look at some of the implications for decision makers, politicians and marketers.

The rapidly growing number of Hispanics in the USA.

On a previous article, before the 2010 census data about Hispanics was released, we had predicted that this segment of the population might pass the 50 million mark – and it did, reaching 50.5 million which is 16% of the population making Hispanics the largest minority. It’s remarkable that more than half of population growth in the USA in the first ten years of the 21st century came from the increase in the Latino population.
